INFORMATION FOR STUDENTS: Admissions

Students with disabilities are welcome at Harvard. Applicants with physical, learning and psychiatric disabilities will want to investigate the availability of University and community resources which meet their requirements, whether academic, residential or personal. We recognize that the choice to self-disclose is a very personal one, although there is no separate admission process for students with disabilities and degree requirements are the same for everyone.

The Office of Admissions and Financial Aid and Accessible Education Office (AEO) do not share information about the disability status of applicants. Accordingly, prospective students with disabilities are encouraged to contact AEO to discuss their questions about academic and residential aspects of University life, and such conversations remain confidential. Further, submission of clinical documentation of a disability is reserved for admitted students only and should not accompany applications.

We urge applicants to become familiar with how University policies regarding requests for accommodations and resources differ from those in their previous educational settings; Harvard has the right to evaluate and determine such requests on an individual basis, regardless of prior history of accommodations.
